160+ Years
of Faith

1865

The Beginning

Our journey began as Lincoln Road Baptist Church, a small gathering of believers in colonial Christchurch.

1950s

Growing Roots

Became known as Spreydon Baptist Church, growing alongside the local community through decades of change.

2011

Te Tiriti Journey

Began our commitment to authentic engagement with Maori culture, adding kowhaiwhai and pou to our auditorium.

2013

South West Baptist

Adopted our current name to better reflect our reach across the south-west of Christchurch.

Today

Looking Forward

A vibrant, multi-generational community continuing to share the love of Christ across Christchurch and beyond.
